Advanced Practice Recruiting FAQ

Advanced Practice Recruiters is the nation's first dedicated APP recruiting firm, founded in 2006. Below are the questions employers, hiring managers, and APP candidates ask us most often. If your question is not covered, call us at 469-457-4570 or email blake@advancedpracticerecruiters.com.

How APR Works (Overview)

APR runs permanent, direct-hire NP and PA searches on contingency. We do not collect any fee until the candidate you hire through us actually starts work. Our recruiters are organized by subspecialty so the person sourcing your candidate has actually placed for that role before. First subspecialty-matched shortlist arrives 48 to 72 hours after intake; 87% of our searches close within 30 days; 94% of placements remain in role for twelve months or longer.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does an NP or PA search take?

Most APR searches close within 30 days of the intake call. Highly specialized subspecialty searches (interventional pain, fellowship-trained surgical PA, certain PMHNP roles) can run 45–60 days. The first subspecialty-matched candidate slate is delivered within 48 to 72 hours.

What does it cost?

Contingency. Employers pay nothing until a candidate hired through us starts work. Standard placement fees range from 15% to 25% of the candidate's first-year base compensation, depending on subspecialty difficulty. No retainers, no upfront fees, no exclusivity required.

Do candidates pay anything?

No. NPs and PAs never pay APR a fee. Candidate engagement is fully confidential and free, including resume review, market compensation benchmarks, and access to roles never posted publicly.

Is there a replacement guarantee?

Yes. Every APR placement carries a written replacement guarantee covering the initial employment period. If the placed provider departs within the guarantee window, we re-run the search at no additional fee.

What states do you cover?

All 50 states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories. APR routinely runs multi-state telehealth, APRN-Compact, and out-of-state-licensure searches.

Do you screen for board certification, DEA, and licensure?

Every candidate APR presents is verified for active state licensure, board certification (ANCC, AANP, NCCPA as applicable), DEA registration where required, malpractice history, employment chronology, and recent clinical practice.

Can you place locums or part-time providers?

APR is a permanent direct-hire firm. We routinely place full-time and part-time permanent roles, but we do not run a locum tenens desk. We can refer to trusted locums partners if requested.

Do you recruit for telehealth and remote roles?

Yes. Telehealth and hybrid placements are one of our fastest-growing segments — particularly PMHNP, family medicine, integrative medicine, and chronic-care management.
